Before you begin

Three things to be sure of.

Please read these properly. The first one in particular has sent people back to the cemetery office, and it is much better to find out now.

One

The cemetery has to say yes, and only you can ask them.

Many cemeteries have written rules about what may be fixed to a monument, and some require permission in writing. Please ask before you order, not after. If they say no, do not buy this.

I understand that RestMarker does not know the rules of my cemetery and cannot find them out for me. Before anything is attached to a monument it is my responsibility to confirm with the cemetery, memorial park, or whoever owns the stone that a marker is permitted.

Two

This is yours to write.

If someone else in the family disputes a memorial, we will look into it, and we may take the page down while we do.

I am a family member, an executor, or someone else with a genuine connection to the person this memorial is for, and I have the right to publish the photographs and the words I upload.

Three

Everything is read before it goes live.

Honesty is welcome — illness, addiction, a hard temper, years that were never repaired. What is refused is cruelty. The full standard is on the "what we publish" page.

I understand that every photograph and every word is reviewed before it can be published, and that RestMarker will decline anything written to demean or harm a person, living or dead.

Where should we send your receipt?

Optional here — you can enter it at the payment step instead. This is the address your memorial will be tied to, so use one you will still have in ten years.

One payment, no subscription. Full refund any time before the marker goes to engraving. Payment is handled by Stripe; we never see your card.
