You order a marker
$79.00 once, and nothing after that. Markers are made in advance and posted the day you order, so it is on its way while you are still writing.
We check it
Every photograph and every word is reviewed before it can go live. Not to sanitise grief - to make sure nobody uses a grave to settle a score.
You publish
The marker already carries its address, so publishing is simply the moment you decide it is ready to be read. Scanned before then, it says the memorial is being prepared.

Real obituaries say hard things. Addiction. Illness. A difficult man. A long estrangement. None of that is a problem here, and we will never ask you to soften it. Grief is allowed to be honest.
Cruelty is not
What we refuse is a page bought to humiliate someone - the dead or the living. A grave marker lasts a very long time, and nobody should be able to make it a permanent insult.

Photographs and words only. We have deliberately left out anything we could not read in full ourselves before it went on a headstone.
