Draft. Accurate to what the software actually does, but not reviewed by a lawyer. Have one read it before launch.

What we hold

What we do not hold

We never see your card. Payment is handled entirely by Stripe; we receive only a confirmation and the last four digits, and card data never touches our servers.

We strip metadata from every photograph on upload, including GPS coordinates. Phone photographs of a family home carry the location of that home, and we do not want it and will not store it.

Content review

Photographs and text are sent to an automated review service (Venice.ai) for the sole purpose of checking them against our published standards. Items the automated pass cannot settle are read by a person here.

The memorial page is public

That is the point of it — anyone standing at the grave can read it. Please do not write anything on a memorial page that you would not want a stranger in a cemetery to read, particularly about people who are still living.

Search engine indexing is on by default so relatives can find the page, and you can turn it off. The page remains publicly reachable either way.

Deletion

Write to help@restmarker.com and we will delete your account and memorial content. The web address itself is retired permanently and never reissued to anyone else — that is the one record we keep, and it exists so a code on a stone can never lead to a stranger’s family.
